Elizabeth Breakell, a Philadelphia native is trained as a scientific and technical illustrator and worked as a freelance graphic artist for many years; however, Ms Breakell considers herself a lifelong student of painting -

a la prima  is Ms Breakell's most satisfying style of painting.  This basically means that the painting is completed in one session (3 to 4 hours) which gives the painting a very fresh impressionistic look.
